Thousands Gather in Manassas for the 29th Railway Festival

The 29th Manassas Railway Festival was a complete success. Thousands of people came from different parts of Northern Virginia to celebrate this annual event that has made the City of Manassas and its Historic Downtown a benchmark for lovers of everything related to the world of railways.

The Virginia Railway Express train (VRE) made the trips with hundreds of families who enjoyed the leisure ride that took them from Manassas to Clifton and back, many of whom were able to meet and take photos with Manassas City Mayor, Michelle Davis-Younger, along the way. Also, the current Miss Fairfax Volunteer 2023, Christina Blake, was one of the special guests who enjoyed the ride and the festival.

The attendees really enjoyed the model train exhibits that were installed in the Harris Pavilion, which was a great attraction for everyone regardless of their ages.

We want to share some of the pictures we got from that day, and if you could not attend, we hope you can make it for the 30th Railway Festival in 2024.

Hundreds of families enjoy the ride on the VRE train. For many of them it was the first time the where on a train.
People from all ages where just happy to ride the trains, the smiley faces tell the fun they were having.

VRE is a daily commute passenger train that travels between Broad Run, going through different points like Manassas, to Union Station in Washington DC. His tours are made from Monday to Friday. You can find more information about their transportation service at www.vre.org.
