Exhibit Summary
Step into the cult classic fan world with John Greenwood’s exhibit “Cult Classics: Minimalist Art for the Avid Fan” on display at the ARTfactory September 18-October 6. We all have our favorite fandoms: favorite movies, TV shows, sports, bands, etc. Graphic designer John Greenwood has always struggled to find artwork featuring his favorite fandoms that does not feel “cartoonish” or overly mass-produced. Instead, Greenwood creates graphic designs that stimulate his (somewhat) grown-up taste and excite his inner child-like wonder. His designs reflect both the fandom he loves, and the minimalist style that he cultivates. The artwork in this exhibit includes fandom designs inspired by favorites Zelda, Alice in Wonderland, Fellowship of the Ring, and more. Greenwood’s clean designs and use of eye-catching color bring our favorite fandoms to life in a way never seen before.
